Now I am worried! Is synthetic really more harm then good in the motor?

1) Tried the Syn3, now use Mobil1 and wouldn't go back if they paid me $10 qt to use it.
2) Once the MoCo realized the synthetic oil lie wasn't gonna fly, they introduced the syn and it caused the seals on even same year bikes to fail. Tons of testing there!!
3) Oil threads should possibly be put in the same catagory as religion and politics, IMHO.

Bottom line is you'll get hit with lightening 25 different times in the exact same spot before you'll have an engine problem using ANY name brand oil, dino or syn as long as you change it at the required interval.
Use whatever you can get readily and cheap and don't worry about it.

Rockrspud...Amsoil is test marketing their branded peanut oil now, made from organic synthetic peanuts. Don't laugh, they use those peanuts all the time in packing boxes for shipping and they aren't cheap. This is ingenuity at its finest because the only use I ever found for them was to paint them brown and glue them on Mr Potatohead in various places.
Oh yeah the oil thing...break in with dino because the rings "might" seat better/quicker but mostly to get a 500 mile oil change without breaking the bank. That first oil change being done early is a good rule in any new/newly rebuilt motor to get the junk left behind out. Yup, lots of manufacturers shipping with synthetic in engines from factory...first was Porsche (?) but they don't have to pay for the oil at that 500 mile change either and it pretty much laid to rest the ring seating issue.
Oh, shameless plug here...don't forget to order a jar of my sand.
