Now I am worried! Is synthetic really more harm then good in the motor?

I'm sure you could come across some writing on the internet that tells you $hit tastes good too but I wouldn't go out and nibble on some turds just because it said so.

I don't believe that changig brands is bad, actually, I believe that it would be good to throw in a different brand now & then. I've been using SYN3 up until last week when I changed to Mobil1 15W50 Synthetic from Walmart. I sleep like a baby at night. (Wake up once an hour crying for a bottle, hehe)
This is something that was told to me by an oil rep when I worked at a speed shop years ago.

Huh???
Also to the guy who spoke about "dinosaur oil"...the word "synthetic" is somewhat misleading in that it is NOT a non petroleum product. In other words...it's made from dinosaurs too. The essential difference between conventional and synthetic oils is the way they are refined (both are made from crude oil). Thanks

The issue of bearing skate is real, it is induced by a bearing being too lightly loaded. This is a function of the design engineer at the manufacturer. In every case that I have seen bearing skate, redesign and retrofitting have been the root cause, never a choice in lubrication. I have made a career of industrial rotating equipment reliability, and tribology for what that is worth. I do use synthetic in every engine that I own. Just what little that I know.
