I guess ya just gotta get em and stock up, where and when ya find them.

The big jugs are the car version. But alot of people have used it for years with no ill effects. Me included, the markup on the v-twin specific 15-50 is ridiculous as the properties are almost the same as the regular stuff.

Hehe, don't really know, but it should be years. Given I do 6 or 7 oil changes a year, it turns over pretty quick.

My Walmart told me to go to the Walmart website and fill out the request. Here is the link.

Mobil or Shell oil products if stored inside (away from freezing or temps over 80F) in the factory sealed container have a shelf life of 60 months. Once opened the shelf life is 12 months. If kept sealed in an unheated garage the shelf life is 24 months. If oil has been sitting for several months it is a good practice to shake it vigorously before opening to distribute any additives that may have fallen out of suspension.

A little off the subject but---

Reading a book about, "Data Mining".

Wal-Mart is one of the earliest in and a leader in this. Gambling Casinos also.

They have, for several years these little RFID Radio Frequency I D tag things, almost microscopic, on everything. T shirts to credit cards, dollor bills soon. Inventory control they say.

But you walk around they can see what you are even wearing and how much is in your pocket. Boarding a Air Plane or even a bus? Of course.

Not just Walmart, its everywhere.

Generally speaking these Data Mining companies know everything there is to know about everybody.
And they have programs that now can predict what you will do in the furture.

For a fee they will sell it. I expect the Cops are lining up. Better than DNA.

and I'm not even paranoid. This is just the facts of modern life.

Checked four Wal-Marts today. No five quart jugs of 15W-50 and no shelf space. Did have quarts of 15W-50 for $6.27 a quart. I guess someone at WallyWorld has been reading this forum and realized what a steal we all had on the big jugs.

Big jugs are always good. Especially if they're cheap!

Best deal right now is Advance Auto.....5 quarts of 15W-50 and a Mobil-1 fliter for $29.95. Filter usual price is over $13.00. Usually run that near the end of every other month as a special.
