Changed the HD Dino to mobil 1 about a week ago. I don't notice any differance in sound or function but I did notice that the oil temp is about 20 degrees lower. it brought the temps from about 240 to 220. I have heard that synthetic oil will drop the temp, but 20 degrees . is that normal?

Yes, synthetic oil will help your engine run cooler. Less friction, less heat. You can expect a 5-10% reduction.

 

Yes....that's normal...better lubrication=less friction=less heat=better fuel economy=longer engine life.

 

20 degrees is what I read on many forums, so it sounds like your seeing exactly what most do.
