Default Oil Level / Oil Temp Dipstick

I'm on my second oil level/oil temp dip stick. They only work about 5% of the time. Anybody else have a similar experience? Harley has a fairling mount oil temp gauge that matched the Street Glide gauges in the new catalog. About the same price as the dipstick. Maybe HD would just exchange the dipstick for the gauge under warranty!!!!!

Default RE: Oil Level / Oil Temp Dipstick

Same problem here. I bought the dipstick last week, works fine for temp, but never could read oil level on it: I always have "error" message. Instructions sheet says that this error message is when oil level is out of range, not enough or too much oil, so I started with a low level and added some oil, and again, and again, and again, and ... now I have too much oil but still error on the LCD.
Okay, most important info is oil temp (for me), and I'll keep this dipstick in place, but actually I think I should buy the gauge..

BTW, be carefull when pushing the button, or keep your gloves on [&:]
