Default Red Line Oil for Transmission

I decided to go with Red Line Shockproof (Light) for my RK transmission. I was shocked to see it looked like chocolate milk as I was pouring 700 mL into the tranny. Going to try it out in a couple of minutes. Hope it doesn't turn into a milk shake .

On a related note, Red Line has informed me that their Superlight is too light for the HD tranny and recommends I go to their Heavy Gear Oil. Supposedy, their Superlight is equivalent to a 75-90 weight gear oil. If HD likes their 20w-50 synthetic, I wonder why a 75-90 would be too light. Hmmmmm.

Maybe the heavy duty looks like dark chocolate. If you used the light, did the clunk go away?

Nope, the Redline shockproof heavy looks like strawberry yogurt, takes a while to pour it in but well worth the time. The way to see it's effectiveness is when you change to trans oil, check the magnet on the plug, with the other types of oil (syn 3 etc) you get fuzz (metal particles) on the magnet. With the redline , you get nothing which translates to less wear and the speed sensor pickup on the trans will not foul up like with syn 3 and other "engine" oils so it would not need replacement.
