Oil Filter Manufacturers

RE: Oil Filter Manufacturers
The K&N filters are excellent, just over-priced in my opinion. The HD filters are good, but also overpriced, even at $11.95. The Wix/NAPA filters are good, cost less, and are available everywhere. Those three reasons add up to a sale for me.
The Twinkie motor is designed to use 10 micron filters. Evo motors use 30 micron filters. Using the 30 micron in a Twinkie probably doesn't matter, as there is a good chance the 10 micron filter spends most of its life in the bypass mode according to several "experts", including Donnie Smith. If these guys are right, the 30 micron filter offers better protection over the life of the engine.

Very cool.
Looks like K&N is for me next time.
News update.. I did my own oil change today..! I know for you guys its no big deal, for me it was a first.
The manual makes sense now. The magnets make sense.. I can tell a difference in finding Neutral.
I didn' have the tools.. so Tramps Cycle in west monroe AKA Squirrel watched over my shoulder. Great guy.. Old bikes everywhere. Had a 67 police edition from chicago that was beat to hell that all was all original and the cop that retired kept it there due to lack of space.. won't sell it.
Met a couple of real old timers that were leaving out to Sturgis, a good morning.
now I know exactly what I need tool wise, the lesson $ 30.00 the oil $ 58.00 the filter $ 16.95 the experience priceless.
thanks guys..
