Actually, it is refined in the U.S. It's just the Citgo is owned by the Venezuelan government's oil company. And if it bothers you that it is "the cheapest", I would guess you have already replaced all the outsourced parts HD buys to put on your bike - after all, they were probably made by the low bidder!

SYN 3 "works for me"
'03 Road Glide with 42K miles... always had SYN 3 in all three holes... I change it often (tip ~ always change the o ring(s)) and I have never had any lubrication issues.
I do have bro's that swear by and use AMSOIL religiously with no issue.
I think the key is frequency of change.

Use what you want but I want the best in by cars and bikes. That would be group 4 synthetics. I have used Mobil1 in my cars as long as I can remember and never had any kind of internal engine problems. When I sold my '86 Buick Grand National's motor the guy buying it wanted me to pull the main caps to inspect the bearings. The guy could not believe it had 140,000 + miles on the motor the bearings looked so good. They were hard miles too. I never have been easy on any of my vehicles. Heck, the benefits of heat resistance with group 4 synthetics is well documented. What more could you want on an air cooled motor?
