Default Redline Shockproof?

OK, I'm a little confused. I've been looking for a good quality gear oil to use in the tranny of my '08 RG so picked up a bottle of Redline Heavy Shockproof Gear Oil (http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=44&pcid=8) based on a lot of good reviews here but think maybe I got the wrong stuff. I noticed the following quote "Not recommended for most synchro applications due to the product's extreme slipperiness" when I checked the website.

I also found that they have a V-Twin Transmission Oil with Shockproof (http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=119&pcid=13). Is this the one I should have got?

Like I said, I'm a little confused.

You'll be fine with either one. The V-TWIN line is "new" and the one you got was what most users used before: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/oil-a...o-you-use.html

Read the statement on the V-twin oil description = same as heavy shockproof gear oil.
Same stuff, same price, different container for bike shops. IMHO.

Default Shockproof

I would call Redline and verify it

I bought a Redline oil change kit for my Sporty and it was shipped with 75w90NS instead of 75W90

After talking to them they shipped me the correct lube

I got a reply back from Redline (thanks for the quick response Dave) and as suspected, the Heavy Shockproof and the V-Twin with Shockproof lubes are the same but with different packaging. Sounds good to me.
