Copper in oil

How long before warranty is up? Did you get an extended warranty?
I did a UOA on my truck 1 month before warranty expired and found potassium and sodium in oil. I was suprised Chevy dealer didn't say the same thing but they replaced both heads.

I might call customer care. Probly would be good idea to get it on record.
Bike will be a year old this Saturday and I have another year left on warranty.
I switched from dino oil to Mobil 1 V-twin.
Next change I will do another UOA.
Glad your truck got fixed. I guess dealers will surprise you every now and then.

Went for a ride today then put a mechanical oil pressure gage on it.
Pressure at idle was 16 lbs.
Pressure at 2000 rpm was 34 lbs.
Took dip stick out and checked temp with a cooking thermometer.
Temp was between 210 & 215
I guess I will check pressure every now and then or put a gage on the bike.

Update
Just got another UOA
The copper dropped from 123 to 51
Other levels look fine
Switched from dino to Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w50 this time
Bike has 15750 miles
Oil had 2330 miles
Did the Mobil 1 oil cause the copper to improve ?
Would it have improved on it's own ?
I guess I will never know
Still no nasty vibrations or noises coming from the engine
I hope it continues to improve
Thanks everyone

You're on the right path! The synthetics have always been a better barrier to prevent engine wear...Stick with what what works for you and don't go changing brands every oil change....
Mixing different oils has always been a "don't do" even with with the dino oil...Something I learned from the 'ol greybeards who were doing it long before I was on 2-wheels!
