Cam bushing, pinion bushing, rocker arm bushings, wrist pin bushings, flywheel (rod) thrust washers are bronze. Only time I've had enough to show up visibly was when a thrust washer came loose from the flywheel and was being slowly eaten by the rod.

there no bronze cam bushing, rocker arm bushings, that much copper in the oil is a slipped crank eating the rod side bushings and the pinion bushing in the cam plate. pull the cam cover, you"ll see whats left of the pinion bushing in the cam plate. your oil light will be on soon .

Are the outer cam bearings bronze?
I would have service manager get Harley involved. Harley may want to tear motor apart themselves and ship you another? I think Harley should be involved 100% if anything to help reduce downtime on bike. May want to call customer care and see what they say. May have to get Advanced customer care or higher.
If they do get into motor with copper at that level something will be found and you shouldn't have to pay squat.
When a roller bearing is near failure copper levels will rise. I don't think this level of copper is coming from a roller bearing failure but I am not an expert.

I will go to the dealer next week and talk to them.
Warranty should cover this.
Is it possible to take the primary cover off and check crank run-out?
I would think the shaft would wobble if crank was twisted.

I think the UOA is good because I can see copper color in the oil from the filter.
I talked to a mechanic at a HD dealer and he thought it might be a twisted crank eating the end play washers.

If your crank is that twisted to eat the thrust washers you'd be posting a vibration thread instead. It would rattle your teeth out. In your case, install a good mechanical oil pressure gauge and monitor it over time. If it starts to drop normal pressure over the next few k the pinion runout might be excessive and eating the bushing. If not dropping, ride the sucker. As for the rest of the copper content, it will likely dimminish in ppm over time. Engines make metal, that's to be expected. Depending on clearances some more than others in the same milage bracket. Further UOA's will tell you what's going on as in staying the same, better, or worse. For now, what else can you do but ride it? Dealer won't do squat. If moco raised the crank runout to .012 as normal I'm sure if they know about UOA the moco figure is likely to be 1000 ppm.

if your seeing copper when you change oil its time to let somebody check crank runout. by the time my oil light came on my pump, cam plate, main bearings, and oil pump was destroyed, caused by the p.o.s. chinese crank. had one trued and welded by revperformance and ended that problem.

OOOPS. Didn't read the year model on the top of the thread - thought I was in the Evo section. I'll be more careful next time...

Went to dealer today.
They wont touch it unless something breaks or oil pressure drops.
They said I could call HD customer service but HD wont do anything if all it is is copper in the oil.
Im gonna put a pressure gage on it and ride it.
