i am pretty sure harley doesnt make there own oils and filters does any 1 know that they are using ? thanks

 

THAT IS A WELL KEPT SECRET.OTHER THAN THE BIKE ITSELF HARLEY MAKES NOTHING ELSE BUT RATHER CONTRACTS WITH VARIOUS VENDORS. KURYAKYN FOR EXAMPLE MAKES A LOT OF THEIR CHROME PIECES.I DOUBT YOU WILL EVER FIND OUT. HERESAY HAS SHELL DOING THE OIL. IF YOU RECALL BACK IN 1998 HARLEY WAS GIVING OUT $10.00 SHELL GAS CARD FOR ANY PURCHASE OF $200.00 OR MORE. THEY RAN THIS QUITE A WHILE AS PART OF THEIR 95TH CELEBRATION. OF ALL THE COMPANIES THEY COULD HAVE CHOSEN IT WAS SHELL. MOST SAID BECAUSE SHELL PACKAGED THEIR OIL FOR THEM. WHO KNOWS?

 

I know that East Penn Manufacturing (DEKA BATTERY) located in Lyon Station, PA makes there batteries. Use to work there

 

also for a while Kalas Manufacturing in Denver, PA was making some od there wiring harnesses (know for a fact battery cables for them, dont know if they still do) use to work there too back in 2003

 

I read somewhere the Citco in Venezuella makes Syn 3.

I believe it is Champion(not the spark plug people) in Albion and West Salem,IL. I know some people who work there and used to get my filters from them. They make several brands of filters for autos also. I remember my buddy telling me what a pain it was doing the HD filters because of the quality that HD expected. If there was even a scratch in the black paint on the filter and HD spotted it, the MOCO would send the whole truckload lot back. It kind of makes you feel good that the MOCO watches quality from their vendors like that.
