There's always a balance between price and quality. All the HD branded parts made in Tawian and China is proof of that and kinda alarming at the same time.
Why not throw some of the bike accessory or clothing business to a US manufacturer? The textile industry in the US is in ruins, imagine what HD could do to bolster this industry? I'm pretty sure everybody on this forum would support and encourage such a move. Now THAT makes good business sense to me brother!

HD will farm-out what ever they dont make to the lowest(most likely) qoute vender.Of course there has to be certain quality levels maintained.
Some of the Motor clothes(leahter) are made in CHINA.Think of the $$$ they save.Will they pass that savings on to us?

I don't think the EPA allows the chemicals required to "chrome" tan leather to be used in the usa. seem to remember reading that usa hides were sent to the east for tanning and once they were there, cheaper to make the jacket etc in that country
