Dumb Q about changing Oil Filter

Look in the good book and it says 4 quarts with filter, do not overfill or the god of pucked out oil, through the air cleaner will get you. Change the filter and you will be just right or maybe a little over full.

Well I learned something today. I sure never knew that you could take off the oil filter without draining the oil. (not that I ever needed to). But you never know I might have a brain fart someday and forget to change the filter. By then I will have probably have forgotten this useful info. LOL
On a side note if you did have to drain the oil, couldn't you just drain it into a clean container and then pour it back in after you changed the filter? That would probably be what I would have done instead of thinking to ask.

I'm too lazy to check the other threads and if you don't answer my question I'll understand, but...why do you say Mobil 1 is better than Syn? Can one synthetic oil be THAT much better than another?...price notwithstanding.
