Oil not returning

Oil not returning
Just got my 1000 mile (1600) service done. When the mechanic test rode it he said it real sluggish. He found 1 to 2 quarts of oil in the engine case. I added one quart @600 miles because it was below the "add one quart" line with engine hot. He has a call into the factory and is waiting tohear back. I read two other posts about $1000 repairs, good thing for warranty. How long did repair take and was there other engine damage ? Thanks.

RE: Oil not returning
Factory told the service tech who told me that it is most likely a bad o-ring that's letting air in. He said no problem, just bring it in. I'll let y'all know when it's done.

RE: Oil not returning
Got my Street Glide back last week, wow what a change in performance! It was a torn o-ring probably done durring assembly. Without the oil setting in the crankcase it revs past 3000 and gas milage went from 34 to 45.

RE: Oil not returning
SGMike, I got a new street glide and I only put 200 miles on it and already the oil was down almost to the add mark when hot. It took 3/4 of a qt to bring it to the full mark (hot). Now you got me wondering if I got a torn "o" ring too. Pipes are clean and dry and no smoke on acceleration so I'm wondering where 3/4 of a qt of oil has gone in such short mileage..........BG

SGMike, just out of curiosity before you took your bike in for the "O" ring replacement was your oil pressure high, low, or normal? Also do you know exactly what "O" ring was replaced? Thanks ........................BG
