Default Oil Level

Just got my scooter back from the dealership from having the 10K checkup. I noticed tonight after checking the oil level, it shows FULL and my service manual says it should read at the half way mark on the stick when cold and FUll when at operating temp.

Should I drain some oil out ?

Was the oil cold or hot when you checked it? If it is reading FULL when cold and on the jiffy stand that is about a half a quart to much. The engine will probably blow some of the excess out the breathers. Call the dealer and tell them what you found. They should make it right.

Just got my bike back last night, same thing happened. I checked my level right at the dealership, and we sucked the excess oil out with a syringe. he says he will have a talk with the technician.

The oil was cold! It seem to me that everytime I take it in, they do something that is not what is recommended by the owners manual. They always put 40 lbs of air in both tired and the book says,
solo rider, 30 psi in front and 36 rear
.

My $.02

1. suck 1/2 quart oil out. Heat up bike & re-check.
2. let some air out of tires until correct pressure.
3. find a different shop to do your work because they suck

Why waste your time trying to educate them?
