To gain access to the shifter shaft seal you must remove outer primary cover, primary chain tensioner, compensator nut, clutch hub nut, clutch and compensator, and inner primary cover.

Default shaft seal

with a impact tool and a 9'' copper tube 1 1/2 and a 1 3/16 sockets and torque wrench will make it easier and possable. all the most of the vital seals cost me $65.00 and about 6 hours to include cleaning all the threads, bolts and surface areas. tape the shifter shaft one time and lube the seal on the inside. use a socket the same size as the outer edge of the seal to lightly tap it in. MARK THE SHAFT EDGE AND THE SHAFT LINKAGE (for reference)

side not: tape in the clutch plates (unless you want to inspect eveything). i didnt know what i was doing, just took my time and paid attention to everthing.
