I like their Syn lucas motor additive nit's clear @ 15$) better than than the normal. I've used both. I put several ounces of the clear in my motor with Mobil1 and put several ounces of the other in the trans. I've noticed if I use the thicker/darker Lucas in the engine the oil gets almost black in about 50-60 miles. However if I use the clear in the engine it takes longer before it gets that black.

Hey KB don't you know I get royalties every time someone uses my name? But it's true I am an AMSOIL guy to the core. As far as Lucas goes, I've never used it in the motorcycles. We do use some of the additives in the shop, but I'm not a fan of additives other than the additive packages engineered into the lubricants from the manufacturer. Lucas seems to be very big on an additive for this and that. I also like to be able to look at technical data, and so far Lucas does not have much to offer. I also notice that Lucas is dumping boat loads of money into marketing with a lot of catchy phrases and celebrity indorsements, high dollar sponsorships and the like. It always makes me wonder what kind of product a company might have if they used the same resources for R&D. Lucas may be great stuff, but I think I'll wait for real world results to come in on the forum before I form an opinion.

I've used Lucas Hi-Perf oil in many drag bike engines. Never had a problem with it. I've also used Valvoline Racing oil a lot over the past 25 years, since it's usually easier to find and costs less. They both work equally well, IMHO.

RE: anyone used or have comments on Lucas oil ?
Hey, I'm jumping on here, as I am getting ready to switch to another brand. My new to me '98 King had SYN3 in for a long time according to the guy I bought it from. Seems fine, other than the friggin' nasty shifting around 1st gear. And from everything I have been reading, sounds like SYN3 isn't too great comapred to Amsoil and Mobil1. mY new mechanic who does great work only sells HD or Lucas and he loves the Lucas, He builds custom bikes and that's what he runs. Wondering if I should try the Lucas or go inw ith my own oil when I get the work doen next week????
Any amsoil sellers on here?
You sure AZ's will order the Mobil1?

RE: anyone used or have comments on Lucas oil ?
My mechanic uses the lucas in his custom choopers, so its good enough for me. I just got it in. Mixed a bottle of the stabilzer lube with it and ran it in all cases. So far, shifting is easier than with my previous Syn3. Also, the Syn3 in all holes had a little over 2k on it, just for the record.
