Marvel Mystery Oil
Just wanted to know if anyone uses this in there engine, gas tank, or any other place. I've heard good things and since its been around since 1923, it must be doing something right. any views or comments?

MMO is good for winterizing or long term storage if you squirt it into the spark plug holes.Don't confuse it for stabil in your gas. Some people swear by it as it lubricates upper cyl head area. But nobody can point to any real solid evedence of increased engine life. I would only use it in a bike for recommisioning after a several year storage period. With an EFI bike I don't want anything that could gum the FI. There are better FI system cleaners like Techron or Redline S1.

Archer, I have used MMO for many years in my fuel tank 2 oz. per 5 gal.
When I was a Aviation Mech. I saw the effects of having low lead avgas
pumped into the old radial engines that were designed for leaded fuel. The flight line crews would would be pumping the low lead avgas into the wing tanks of these old birds and at the same time the pilots would be standing on the wings dumping MMO by the quarts into the fuel stream to mix. The Confederate Air Force said they are very familiar with these old engines and there maintenance, they said the R-980 and the R-1860 engines need the extra lube qualities provided by the MMO. I burn 2 oz every other tank full when I travel across country every summer, I contacted MMO Tech. and he gave me information about MMO having no affect on oxy. sensers and actualy lubricates the elec fuel pump and upper cylinder valve guides.......For what it's worth, it smells better than the straight unleaded hairspray smell when it burns.......JMHO

We use it to lubricate our air tools, and use it in my 1937 John Deere A.(BTW that is a 322" 2 cylinder engine, that only makes about 50 hp, but the torque it makes is ferocious.)

It has a pretty color. It smells good. The propaganda on the can is entertaining to read. Other than that, I doubt if it is needed or actually does much. More people don't use it than do. The sides of the road aren't littered with broken down cars.

Thanks for the input and comments above, i have talk to a few people around town, some swear by it, some have never heard of it, the only thing i have actually discovered is that it really is a mystery oil. I am still unsure what the benefits of using MMO would be. I found a video about the stuff.

Excellent stuff, been using it for years. Run it in the bike on occasion too, also use it regularly in my diesel!!! What Razerman states is very accurate!

Wow, i just watched the video that stuff can cure anything.I think I read somewhere it's just a solvent with enough diesel in it to give it some lubrication quality's. I knew a guy who put it in his boat motor and said it cured a lifter tick it had. Is that a testimonial?.,,
