Default Oil cooler!

What do you guys think of this? I was thinking about getting the 12" version in anodized black (if possible) and mounting it vertical on the left down tube as an oil cooler.

Looks ok but there is a company out there that makes a black verticle oil cooler kit for HD's that mounts the same way. Ready to bolt on. I forget the name but I was going to get one.

Just my two cents...Oil coolers are best unseen. I like the the HD or JAG's cooler set up. I am running the HD cooler that mounts to the regulator and engine mount on my FXDB. They don't do much good around town unless you are moving, but I can't see how they could hurt.

I know, I just figured this would be cool...different. Maybe paint it or get them to anodize it black and then polish the edges off.

That's not a cooler, it's a heat sink. Not nearly as efficient as a true cooler.

Well, if I do it, I'll let you know how it works. It has well over 300 square inches of fin surface area to cool that oil. This type of system seems to work pretty good on that v shaped thing that makes all the noise. I think it will actually work very good.

Like I said, if i do it I will give a full report and that will include oil temp both before and after the oil cooler.
