Default Mobile 1

I'm currently running Amsoil but want to switch to Mobile 1 due to availability, cost, etc. The Wally Worlds in my area used to carry Mobile 1 motorcycle oil, but no more. Would I be fine with the regular Mobile 1 15-50 or go with the Lucas Synthetic motorcycle oil I saw at a local AutoZone several weeks ago?

I run the 15-50 in all my bikes. You *could* use it in the primary but I use the 10-40 motorcycle oil in it due to trying to help keep things cool.

Lots of people on here use the M-1 15w50 but some of the reports on used oil analysis show it shearing to a 40w very quickly so it is a toss up. I would not use it in the trans but use the M-1 75w90 gear oil. Like said before use a 10w40 in the primary. If you want the Vtwin 20w50 which is JASO rated for air cooled MC engines try autozone as they carry it nationally.

It's pretty much impossible to find the Vtwin Mobile 1 in the Rio Grande Valley. I checked at AutoZone a few weeks ago. They said they used to carry it but no longer do - can't even order it they said. That's where I saw the Lucas Vtwin oil.

If you are in a very remote area maybe you should consider Amsoil as they will ship it to your house. Amsoil makes very good products and many guys here use them. If you go to Vtwin forums there is a guy named George Douglas who is a dealer that is very knowledgeable. He will help you with Amsoil products.

Thanks for the link but that's pretty steep. My local HD carries Amsoil for 10 bucks a quart. That's also steep. I ordered Amsoil from someone the last time I did a fluid change but lost the paperwork and don't remember where I found the guy - on a forum, but don't remember which one. I know it has to be cheaper than the stealer.
