Oil Cooler Adapter Leaks - Copper Gasket Spray?
My HD Premium Oil Cooler leaks at the top of the adaptor, where the small plate held on by two allen head screws sits. It has a thin gasket there. I ordered and received a "gasket service kit" with two new gaskets.
It also has a stain around where the adaptor mates to the oil filter mount.
Someone said to use copper spray gasket sealer, so I got some.
Exactly how is this stuff used? Spray it on one side, let it get tacky, turn it over and spray the other side, let it get tacky, then assemble?
Should I also spray the metal parts it goes between?
Then how tight to tighten it down. Too tight can cause the parts to warp and make the leak worse - right?
Just asking for some help here.....thanks.
