Oil question
#2
Probably OK IF there are no friction modifiers (teflon, etc.) in the oil that could effect clutch operation. BUT why use expensive , synthetic engine oil in the primary when plain old one dollar Type F atf will work as well and is designed for wet clutch plates?
Of course, I also like transmission specific oil like Redline HD Shockproof or Amsoil trans oil in the tranny. Go figure!

It should be ok in the primary but I only use a gear oil in the trans. I have yet to see anyone switch back to motor oil in their trans once they go to gear lube.

I've been using Amsoil 20/50 in the trans and it shifts like butter. If everything is adjusted properly you wont need extra heavy oils to mask a problem. Just dont use oils that say they are "energy conserving", in the primary your clutch might start to slip.
