Default How much will synthetic reduce engine temp?

I have a 2009 Roadglide with 700 miles. I have the Harley oil temp dipstick. The bike runs between 240f and 255f. I plan on changing to Syn3 at the 1000 mile service. How much can I expect the oil temp to drop?
thanks

Should get between 10-20 depending on oil . Full syn should give lower readings over the Syn3 blend, which is not full synthetic.

If you use a groupIV synthetic like Mobil1Vtwin, Amsoil, Royal Purple or Spectro or a groupV like Redline you should get it down to 230-240 range. If you add an oil cooler you should get to 220-230.

It's in the name. Syn3= synthetic/group3= synthetic blend. Not sure that's 100% correct, but that's what I'd call it and fool people into thinking it's a true syn Why waiste your time explaining something to the dealer anyway. They should know that . As for report, there are plenty of them.

Can't speak specifically to the new bikes but it should lower the temp about 10°F. You may want to wait until the 5k to change to full syn. I have run into problems with 4 wheelers changing over too soon using Mobil 1. I just got a 09 Ultra and am waiting for the 5k to change to Amsoil. Good luck.

One of the advantages of synthetic over dino is that it gives better protection against shear at higher temps. At 280 degrees your fossil oil is 38% effective and drops rapidly after that.

Even with the massive finning, the 96 inch engines run hot! I use synthetic for the added protection and am seriously thinking of getting an oil cooler.
