Default Redline, Amsoil or Mobil V Twin, Which will make my engine quieter

Tried the Mobil 15/50 synthetic and it made my engine sound noisier. So I went back to dino and now I'm hearing a whole load of different engine noises. So I am going to go back to using synthetic and would like to know which of the other synthetics will make the engine sound the quietest. Oil in the UK is too expensive to keep changing.
Thanks.

Hi,

Its got to be the Mobile 1 V Twin 20/50, this is not the standard Mobile 1 UK oil.

The only place I can find that sells it in the UK is www.trojan-horse.co.uk

Hope this helps.

Default Oil

Red Line 20-60 Motorcycle oil is quietest, Plus the bottle opening is smaller than Mobile1 or Amsoil, You can pour it without using a funnel and getting oil all over.

Synthetic oils by their nature stay thinner, so they don't muffle as much mechanical noise as dyno oil.
I doubt if you will be able to tell the difference, sound wise between any of the above mentioned synthetic oils.

Yes thanks, I saw your post yesterday, they must be the only place in the UK selling the V-Twin 20/50.

Thanks.
Amsoil has the highest viscosity rating of the 3 at 100c. But a very small difference. I would go with the least expensive. My bike sounds like a sewing machine with the Vtwin. Every engine I have used syn oil in exhibits more mechanical noise which usually abates after 2-3 oil changes with the same brand.

i went to amsoil after reading up on all the specs mobile 1 is the only 1 close to it
myself and my bud robert both changed from syn 3 to amsoil and was noticeable
quieter than the syn 3 and the sevear gear 75/90 in the tranny shifts smoother
and seems to run cooler-ride safe

If your engine is noisey,it's noisey.Oil will not stop the noise.
Mine is noisey also.I've been using Amsoil.Last oil change I added Lucas Oil additive. The noise is still there!

I have not owned a Harley for the last 15 years. The ones I had before that (74 Sporty and 66 Electra Glide) were VERY noisy. My Wide Glide makes a very small amount of noise compared to them. I may try some different oils to quiet it but I can live with it if it doesnt.
