Default FLSTF oil check level and Amsoil

Hello-
have had Amsoil for 1100 miles since mods. When I got the bike from indy the oil would read cold on the stick at the top of the add fill arrows. recently the oil cold has been at teh bottom of the stick just by the fill arrow.
When I ride and get the engine to operation temp and come back home to check the HOT oil level as per the manual it read just above the full arrow line HOT

Not sure what has been happening with the oil level.... this was never an issue before going to Amsoil and running 20-50 Vtwin castrol.

Ideas?

I always go with the hot measurement about 4 minutes after shut down. My level moves around when cold as well.

I think there is a check valve that holds the oil in the tank after shut down. If this leaks down the level will appear that it is low. Run the bike and then check it to fill the oil tank.

Checked mine cold a few times during breakin, now I just check if hot. Checking mine cold, I got the same results that you describe. If its full hot, dont worry about it.

According to the SM the hot check is the prefered method for checking the oil level. Cold level will vary.
&nbsp\\;
Hot check: Warm up motorcycle to operating temp, let idle for 1 to 2 minutes, cut off engine and check oil by removing dipstick, wipe off, reinsert stick fully and recheck.
