I have a brand new FXSTSSE2 with a Screamin Eagle 110ci motor on it.&nbsp\\; My first oil change was at 500 miles.&nbsp\\; I put&nbsp\\;just over 2000 miles on it before I left for Iraq.&nbsp\\; However,&nbsp\\;I had to add 1 qt of oil since the first oil change (500 miles) until now.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; The bike doesn't smoke or leak.&nbsp\\; My question: is this just normal break-in, or did my rings not seat yet. Or something else.&nbsp\\; I wanted to ride to the day I left so I haven't taken it to the shop yet.&nbsp\\; Not sure if I need to.&nbsp\\; I can get it to the shop, just wondered if it was worth hastling one of my friends back in Texas to do for me.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\ ;

 

You can expect the bike to use some oil during break in. I would not worry about it until after 3000 miles. I can about guarantee you, that will be the dealers answer.

 

Did you do the oil change? Are you sure it was filled all the way?
