Low Oil light on Ultra

Low Oil light on Ultra
05 Ultra with low oil light that flickers on. Might stay off for 100 miles and then flickers on again. Oil pressure is around 32 when it happens. Changed the Low Oil swith on font of engine, but it flickered on again. Can't figure it out since I still have good oil pressure. Could it be electrical? Any answers appreciated.

RE: Low Oil light on Ultra
If you have already changed the low oil switch that probobly was not the cause unless you got lucky and got a bad one. Check the connections on the switch make sure they are clean and making good contact. Could be the wire that goes to the switch shorting out somewhere rubbing on the frame, bad buld in the light. Some of them electrical gremlins can be hard to find.

+1 I would suspect an electrical short as well if your oil pressure guage is reading 32

RE: Low Oil light on Ultra
Oil pressure light is energized all the way to the sending unit screwed into the crankcase. Sending unit supplies the ground path for the light to go on. Any short to ground upstream from the unit will cause light to come on. I've seen water leak down from the windshield and drip onto the connector going to all the indicator lights on FLT's cause corrosion that provided a ground path. First try running with connector at oil sending unit unplugged for awhile and see if problem repeats. If it doesn't, then sending unit is bad. If it does, then look at indicator light connector, clean it , and apply dielectric grease to it to keep problem from returning.
