Skip Amsoil!!
Stop playing the Amsoil game and go with Redline oil. Try them both and you will see....Redline will win. The proof will be in the pan at the next oil change. Plus the noisy lifters after 400 miles on the Amsoil. You be the judge.

I'm running royal purple since my 1k mark. I've used it in my WS.6 for years and feel it does just what I'd want out of a synth oil. I've put about 700 miles on the bike with the synth and it runs and most definitely ***** better.

Having seen the inside of more than a few engines I would recommend you stay with dino oil. H-D 20W-50 unless you are in a hot climate and run a straight 50W.

Answer? Because Citgo came in with a lower bid... has not a damn thing to do with what is 'best' for your bike.

No, not a wet behind the ears pup that buys everything he hears. And, no don't believe I'll be going into the dealer for a bunch of warranty work.
And no, the dearlership certainly does not have me by the short hair. Point I was trying to make, and what I try to do, is think for myself and not look at dealerships as villians just because its fashionable. Yep, probably some incompetent mechanics out there in Harley dealerships and probably quite a few dealers just interested in taking your money and then kicking you in the a**.
But, there is no way Harley is not using a quality engineered for their product lubricate in their new bikes. Warranty work takes from the profit line and ultimately from the stock holders. And, it would be great PR for Mobil to have Harley as a customer. I'm sure they bid hard for the contract.
Bones.

heres a blackstone lab report on Mobile 1, I will never buy the product again!
only 2600 miles!
*I need to figure out how to make it bigger, in a nut shell, all the aditives are pretty much gone at 2600 miles, kinda sucks!

First off if you are running "motorcycle specific" oil in a Harley you're wasting your money.Harley's don't use the same oil for the motor and the clutch so oils designed for a wet clutch and a motor are not necessary. That said, I'm using Mobil 1 15/50 in the motor and the primary and their 75/90 gear oil in the tranny.I just picked up the 15/50 at Oreilly's for 4.99 a quart that's damn near 1/2 the price of the fancy motorcycle oils and I'm convinced every bit as good.I had been using the 75/90 in the primary and it works fine too but it's pricey so I'm trying the 15/50 for that as well.

If you change your oil at 5000 miles use Amsoil, Mobil 1, Redline, Royal Purple , Harley etc....they all will work....I run Mobil 1 15W50...got it for $9 a 5 quart jug....when i run out i will look for another deal somewhere...
