I fun amsoil in my bike and harley filter. Seems to work well for me and thousands of others. Nothing wrong with sticking with harley oil though. Its really just a personal preference. As long as you change it as often as you should you should be just fine with any of them out there.

Default 2007 super glide custom fluid change

I have a 2007 super glide custom. This will be my first time changing the fluids and im just curious as to what I should be running in the engine/primary/trans. My buddy recommend AMSOIL 20W-50 for the engine. Any recommendations or guidance would be greatly apricated!!

First thing to do is buy the manual for your bike. All will be revealed !

This will give you the kind of info you want. You will discover that there are no "best" oils to use, but there are a lot of very good products out there.

Transmission 1 quart. Drain plug torque 168 to 252 inch pounds (14 to 21 foot pounds). Dip stick 25 to 75 inch pounds (2 to 6 foot pounds)

No thread locking used, I use Teflon thread sealant on the drain plugs, transmission dip stick, and the primary cover screws.

Harley oil filters P/N 63798-99A (chrome) or 63731-99A (black)


I use the below from https://www.amsoil.com/. You can also look up your bike on their website as they list recommendations as well as oil capacities for your bike.

MCVQT-EA
20W-50 Synthetic V-Twin Motorcycle Oil
3 each for engine

ATFQT-EA
Signature Series Multi-Vehicle Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF)
1 each for primary

SVOQT-EA
SEVERE GEAR 75W-140 Synthetic EP Lubricant : (1) quart bottle
1 each for transmission

PREG6M-EA
