..one more post on OIL

I use the SE 20/50 syn and I like it as much as any I have ever used. Yeah Death Valley is hot, but it gets pretty hot here in Okiehomer in the summer and that coupled with slow driving stuck in traffic can really do your engine in. I learned the hard way not to use engine oil in all three holes as scamsoil recommends, my glide didn't like it worth a s---. Engine oil in the engine, gearoil in the trans, and primary oil in the primary is the way to go IMHO.

Yep....for any oil anyone uses there are some things to look for, imho. One is using a pure synthetic. Amsoil, Redline, Mobil 1 V twin, they are pure synthetic oils, and I'm sure there are more. Maybe even more important is the oils flashpoint, the point at which it breaks down from the heat. With these air cooled motors we need to concerned about heat. Mobil 1 VT has one of the highest flashpoints, but the others I mentioned are just about as high. The other concern to be considered is accessibility. How easy/difficult is it to get a particular oil in your area.
just my $.02.....

I've used Amsoil with no problems and I know a few guys who are very happy using Lucas oil. I refuse to use HD screaming eagle oil because they buy it from the cheapest bidder and not for the quality
