I've added lucas oil treatment in small increments in other vehicles. Mixes well with synthetic oil.

As to 60 wt, is the indy going to stand behind his advice? Personally I'm not sure. My cuz is ridin an old shovelhead and he uses 75 wt dino oil, but is in need of a rebuild. You need to talk to people living in the south. Georgia, the Carolinas, they all get just as hot as Alabama. See how others have fared. Might go over to the regional forums and do some askin there.

After giving thought to this all I think you only need to consider the flashpoint of the different oils, and pure synthetics give a higher flashpoint with the highest being Mobil 1 V Twin or Amsoil or Redline. I would run 20-50 in any of those 3 and not be afraid unless you are sitting idling for hours.

Default Which oil are you running

How many of you are running with the reg HD oil or have switched to Syn?I switched to syn oil when I had my sporty and found a huge diff in the way she ran, cooler and shifting was easier, just curious.

I'm thinking of going to syn when my break in period is over and i have it back for it's 1600 KM service.
