Having the camchain and tensioner conversion done withcams and the indi only uses redline so thats the way it will be till next oil change, but will probably use mobil 1 20w50 because it,s easy to find. Think I'll stick with the redline for the chain case though.

I've been around other forums for a long time. just remember you may be older but the internet came around about the same time I was in highschool so I may know just as much as you about this stuff.
but yes I was being lazy and didn't want to seach that deep and this forum is really active so why not.
thanks for the info that is just what I was looking for. now if you know anything about converting my rear t180x60x17 to a car tire size that would be the cats ***.

I really did search but I'm really looking for a different oil filter than Harley. I'm about 20 miles from the hd dealer plus I work 3rd so on my way home they are not open. Does anyone else make a filter that work be ok.
You don't have to answer you could say SEARCH and be gay! But what ever.

Look to the right of your screen and you will see an Advertising column. Scroll down and you will find Featured Sponsors sub-headed Vendor Directory . Once there you will see an ad for Amsoil. Click on that ad.
You can get the best oil available for your Harley (my opinion) and a very good quality oil filter from them
shipped right to your door. And you will be supporting a sponsor that supports this forum.

Trans & Primary Fluid
Just lookin for some opinions on what is the best way to go for fluids in these two areas, have heard of just runnin 20w-50 and some run 75w-90? i believe, really dont know which is best? It comes from the factory with gear lube in these two areas, I have ran 20w-50 in the past on my previous bike. Gettin ready to convert this one to Amsoil all the way threw, any and all opinions welcome, and appreciate them as well!

There are a lot of threads on this but I used to use Syn3 in all 3 holes but recently switched to Amsoil 20W-50 in the motor and primary and use 75W-90 in the tranny and seems the be a little quieter and smoother shifting.

HD formula plus in primary and 75w140 gear oil in tranny... will probably switch to 75w90 for the winter.
