I use the Harley's oil filter since I don't need to hunter for an aftermarket one.

Default H-D oil filter P/N # 63731-99A cross reference

My 2012 FLHX owners manual call for this oil filter # 63731-99A the black filter. The chrome is # 63798-99A

I purchased an Amsoil oil filter online using their search function to get the part number. 2006 HD Heritage Softail Classic comes up #EAOM134C. I received the same number filter but it isn’t correct. The filter gasket is much thicker than what came off the bike and the gasket makes contact in less than 1/2 turn. The filter that came off the bike takes about 3 turns before the gasket makes contact. Not Happy.
Anyone else come across this issue?

Thanks
Bill B

Either HD or Hiflo Filtro filters. Lately HiFlo as HD keeps raising their price to retarded levels.

I second that. I just changed my oil and used the K&N Chrome with the 3/4 hex at the end of it. Feeling really awesome about that choice.

Maybe the dealer has some old filters they had before the CEO got the job...
