Oh fer cryin' out...it's not rebuilding a rocket...!

Simple but effective nonscratching filter wrench for all filters:

1.) Piece of pipe, about 1" x 10-15"
2.) Piece of nylon strap from tote bag or ratchet strap about 15" or more
3.) Piece of metal bar, bolt, pipe -anything from pencil size to 1/2"

a.) Notch the pipe at one end with a hacksaw all the way through as deep as your strap is wide. Make two parallel cuts to form a narrow slit.
b.) Drill a hole through the other end the size of your bar or bolt.
c.)Drill another hole a little further down at 90 degrees to the first one.

Now make a "teardrop" loop of the strap, sticking the ends through the notches in the pipe.
Slip the loop over your filter and wind the pipe in the direction you wanna go (righty-tighty or lefty-loosey)
Shove the bar through one of the holes in the other end.

Twist.

Sumtimes ya feel like a nut...other times ya don't

Default Filters

This is simple stuff people. Regular service with quality products, including keeping your air filter serviced and clean, it shouldn't matter if you use a 5,10,15,20 or 30 micron oil filter. If regular servicing is done, and your not a sloppy pig doing in a gravel pit, where is the crap to clog stuff up going to come from? Unless your a moron and check your oil in a dust storm the inside of your engine should always be clean. Besides, seriously a 5 micron particle is the size of a red blood cell or something like .0005----. Look in your service manual I can't find any spec that small.

I may have said this, but I'm using Hi-Flo - they're made in 'Nam to some really tight specs. Unfortunately, none of my 3 end-cap cups will fit it, so I made the one in my last post as my last filter wrench. Works damn good too.
