What part number is this ac delco oil filter?

bl33...I don't have the number for the AC Delco, but here are some others and you can cross one of these to the AC Delco:

WIX: 51348
WIX Chrome: 57348
Champion: (who makes HD filters and Supertech) ph2835
BOSH: 3330
Supertech: 3615 (short) 3600 (long)

The BOSH is a very good and heavy filter. I run the BOSH, and Supertech. They have always caught every orange tensioner shard when I cut them open to look for any as far as I know. Don't care anymore, because I have went to the hydraulic conversion and will have no more orange tensioner shoe shards.

Of course...these are all for the Twin Cam. The EVO takes a different filter.

I have ran the 3330 without issue and it can be found at Autozone.

Always get on the particular website and look at the specs. on anti drain-back and bypass for any particular filter. There must be a dozen that will work from the Bosh 3330 on out to some Motorcraft. Lots of folks use that cheap Wally-World filter...Supertech and I am one of those people. It meets all HD OEM specifications according to Champion, who builds the filters for HD.

Anyone know if there is an oil filter available at a regular auto parts store for a 99 Sporty 883? If I can get one number, I can cross reference it, lmao.

Thanx. RD

Default What Filter

Please excuse me, but I am new here and to Harley. I am working on purchasing a 2008 FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic. So I have a few questions since I plan on changing the engine oil as soon as I get the bike home.

What are the alternate recommended brand oil filters for the FLSTC? What grade engine oil does Harley recommend for this model bike (engine)?

Thanks,

Rick

Bikergeek...you could spend the next three weeks day and night reading posts concerning oil and oil filters on all the various forums. Us Harley folks love to discuss this. Until you make your own decision concerning what you want to run, just use the HD oils and filters until you eventually wade through it all and discover there are numerous brands of filters and lubricants being used.

Generally 20W50 on the oil and the Harley filter can be crossed to numerous brands that will work from Champion, to Wix, to Bosch, to K&N...and on and on it goes. Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W50 is a safe bet and can be found at most good auto parts stores and they can also cross your filter to one of the major brands. People run filters from the $3 Supertech all the up to the $10 HD and Mobil 1 filters and everything in between.

Just make sure you use a V-Twin motorcycle oil in the 20W50 weight. Stay away from the lower weight oils used in automobiles and metric bikes. All the major filter manufacturers make a filter that will cross to the HD.

Happy reading!

People also throw any filter that will cross reference onto their bikes without checking the specs out. I don't run HD filters because they're okay but not the best of them.
Do your homework before risking a fail.

Not just you.

I went to auto tech school right after high school for 6 months, and one of the professors drove a ford Crown Vic and Claimed to never change the oil in any car he ever owned... Just added as he needed and changed the filter every so often. Granted we all thought he was crazy, but to each his own, right?
