Default sportster oil type

I looked through a few pages and did not see the topic so here is goes.
I just got a 05 sportster for the wife it has 1100 miles on it and yes I stole it. Any how it has not had any service work (not that it really needs it but they say it needs it at a 1000 miles). I do all my own work and was wondering what other sportster owners are putting in their scooters? Let me know thanks

My preference would be a 20W50 Synthetic Motorcycle oil such as AMSOIL MCV or Mobil 1 V Twin, BMW, Torco T4SR to name a few.

I maintain my kid's '07 883 Custom- I run either M1 15W-50 or Syn3 in the crankcase, Formula+ in the tranny/primary.
Bike runs like a Swiss watch...

20w50 syn in the engine. Try some Redline MT90 in the trans as it is a 75w90 manual transmission oil with no moly to affect the clutch.
