Red Line 20W50?
I have noticed afairly largenumber of riders are using Red Line ShockProof Heavy in their transmissions. I have also noticed the preferred synthetic engine oils areMobil 1and AMSOIL.
Is anyone using Red Line 20W50 oil in their engine?

Yep, been using it on HD's since 2004.
Its the highest grade oil I could find (group 5), and its definately overkill, but I'm happy.
I don't doubt that Mobil, Amsoil and many others would serve just as well. You arnt going to 'feel' any difference with oils, it dosent work like that and the differences are so small between good oils. I'm happy with my UOA's and see no reason to change.

Redline is a great product for tranmission the Spectro Platium for 6 speeds is a bit better for 6 speed gearboxes. but redline is fine.
Engine oils M1vtwin has a better additives than the otherss but any or them will server you well
Primary is one place you should NOT use sny oil or lube.
F+ or plain old motoroil

I've used Redline 20W-50 and it's a good oil. As mentioned it is one of the few Group V oils, and also as mentioned is probably overkill for our needs. But it is good stuff.
I've also used Amsoil, Mobil 1, Syn 3, and H-D dino in my bike and couldn't tell a lick of difference between any of them (including Redline) as far as temperature differences or power output. Only difference was the level of engine noise with each- they all make the engine "sound" a little different.

...The mobil1 15w50 from Walmart seems to be the best deal out there.

Currently running Syn 3 (dealer cut me a deal just to try it again) and I hate to admit it, but it's by far the quietest of all the oils I've tried. As always, YMMV!

I agree 100%. I was using it for awhile and still recommend it. Only reason I changed was it, as well as Amsoil, gave me more top end noise than the other brands I have used. Doesn't mean that both aren't excellent top-shelf oils, just that they made more noise in my particular engine.
