Default Engine Fogging

What Does Fogging Mean
I justpurchased a NEW (7 miles) 03 FLSTSI from the dealer and they said they fogged the engine before they put the bike on display in a show case 5 yeasr ago.
They serviced it and put new tires on it before I took delivery on 1-1-8.
What if any concerns should I have, and what kind of things do I need to look for before they become a problem?

They sprayed fogging oil in the intake with the engine running till it choked out and then, probably sprayed it in the plug holes and turned the engine over a time or two. Engine fogging is for engines that are going to be out of service for a while. It prevents internal rust.

Personally, I doubt if you will have any problems with the bike.

If they fogged the engine then it should be fine. Personally, I would change the engine oil & filter, trans oil and primary oilif they didn't do it as that oil has been in there a long time. Pay attention to anything rubber especially fuel & oil lines. You will definitely want to get the 1000 mile service done with another complete fluid change. You may also want to bleed the brakesout and flush that system as well. If you are mechanically inclined all of this is relatively easy but I would highly recommend you get a service manual for your bike. They run about $42.

Other than that...since they did fog the engine (which was the correct way to store that bike) you should be good to go.
