Running Amsoil 20W50 in the motor
Amsoil 75W110 in the Tranny and HD Formula + in the primary.
Have be running this combo for a while and I like it the best so far, I have used Amsoil 75W140 in tranny and liked it, have used Redline products and Mobil syn too. All are good and I don't think you could go wrong using any of them. I used Amsoil now because I get it for what the dealed pays for it...what a friend!

i just talked to a guy from amsoil today and he said[20w50 engine oilis] actually better for the [5 speed] trans than the severe gear.
OK, that's a first, and speaking from admitted ignorance, it smells like a crock.

What is he using to back up that claim? If it's valid, I am sure AMSOIL has something in writing. I'd real dam sure like to see that in writing.
well, this chart is from the website...
http://www.amsoil.com/products/stree...oil_chart.aspx

and this his is email...
Adam; The MCV 20w-50 is the best recommendation for all three locations in your application. The MCV is designed to work in the transmission and will meet higher JASO specs than the SV gear lubes. Thanks Aaron Maki. amaki@amsoil.com AMSOIL Tech Service 715-399-8324 EXT #6098

and i don't think its his opinion. i'm sure the amsoil techs have to give the opinion of amsoil, not just whatever they want to say.
