Pure power oil filter

RE: Pure power oil filter
I looked at all the info online and about a month ago purchased & installed one.
I dont know about the increase in HP couldnt really tell a difference.
The filter is very well constructed. Looks great on the bike. Also, due to its design & conctruction, servs as additional oil cooling and I did notice that the oil temp was down a bit.

Hot Bike did a dyno test a few months back & their tests showed 9hp/9tq. increase.
One of the members in another forum also did a dyno test & got 4hp more.
This was comparing a standard HD filter & dino oil with the PP filter & PP's oil.
I have no personal experience with PP's products, this is just what I've read.

An oil filter that claims to increase hp and tq? This I've gotta see. Sounds like snake oil to me. I could see where it could improve filteration of the oil and maybe, just maybe, drop the temp a few degrees by its design, but an increase in hp and tq. No, I'm not buying it. Prove it!

I would be worried that any increase in HP would be due to the pump not having to work as hard, therefore less HP lost. Only way I could think of that happening is if the micron rating of this filter is high to allow the oil to flow through it faster. I beleive Harley filters are 5 micron particulate size. You should check the micron rating. More HP wouldn't be worth increased engine damage

I too read the article in hot bike. The test was bs and I wrote them and no answer. For one thing ,the control oil was 20-50 for the base-line runs. They put in 15-40 for the test oil.An old dyno competition trick is to put thinner oil to negate parasitic drag. That probably made up 80% of their increase. As for the filter,if it flows that good,it`s probably not doing that good of a job.I`ll giv up 2 hp. to keep crud in the filter.I called and bs. on this from day one.To prove the filter they should have put in new oil and stock filter -dyno,then new oil with"magic" filter-dyno.then give results.I wasn`t a "controlled" test, for they used different viscosities with the different filters. Black Bart is on the money here. They should have had the crew from Myth Busters do the test.At least it wouldn`t have been stacked in their favor.Nuff said.Toby
