Sounds like the real problem is the re-mapping of the fuel. The temp thing sounds in range but I am with the synthectic
crowd, my 03 fatboy runs cooler with the SE synthetic. I run it everywere. The new exhaust should make it run better but
I always find that if you trace it back to the beggining you will find the problem. I always hated it as a kid if I lost something or somrthing went wrong, my mom would always say well where were you when you lost it. GO%&#*$ I hated it when she said that. Augie..

My Fatboy runs right at 200 degrees with Harley Syn in it. It runs the same temp. whether it's hot outside, cold outside, running hard or running legal after a complete warm-up. It does seem strange to me, but that's what the Harley needle gauge points to. Guess it just likes 200.

ORIGINAL: TxMoores

My '99 Night Train (Stage 1+) liked to run hot ~230 and a local old timer convinced me to change to Royal Purple V-Twin 20W-50 and now it runs right at 200 degrees.... I still may go ahead and put a bigger oil cooler on anyway before the hot summer days come up (110 degrees...)
I've heard realy good things about this oil but I can't find it anywhere.Where do you get it Tx?

You might try some hot rod shop's, sometime's they carry some differnt brand's than Walmart, personally I run Mobil1 v-twin and my oil is running at 200 degree's in 75 degree weather.

Down here it is carried by Pep Boys, O'Reilly's and some industrial companies (a little better price!) for manufacturing companies (air compressors, etc.)
You might try:
NAPA Auto Parts, 32128 I 10 West, Boerne, 830-249-3041
or check out Royal Purple website. (esp the motorcycle link)
