Default Newbie needs help with oil leak

I just bought this 1992 sportster and it runs really great, but there is an oil leak from the top of the forward cylinder head. I pulled the valve cover off and also the what appears to be a valve cover spacer and exposed the rocker arms. The gasket where the leak is coming from is the next gasket down from that where the cylinder head appears to mate with the jug. Is this a common problem on Harley's and is it something I can fix myself ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Johnny

Is it the gasket between the bottom of the lower section of the rocker box, or the gasket between the head and cylinder?

Same problem on my XL1200L and the guy next door 1200N both ours leaks on the back left cylinder from the second gasket and mine only has 1700 miles on it.
Crappy gaskets I guess. get a manual and chane it yourself.

PS. Great American Engineering....???

Thats a common problem especially on older sporty's not that hard to fix just make sure you get the rocker boxes aligned good when you tighten them down if it's just a little off you can pinch the gasket and have to replace it again.
