Oil Filter Construction

Any guy with a video camera and a hacksaw can be an oil filter scientist...
More analysis paralysis.
It a spin on oil filter, use the one spec`d for your machine and get on with life.

Have you seen actual testing data done by a reputable source that show Fram filters do not do the job (not some video internet scientist with a hack saw)?
Orange Fram filters are not designed for use on Harley Davidsons.

The video does not compare apples to apples.
The video showed a Fram filter so I replied accordingly.
The video showed the lowest grade Orange Fram filter against other brand's higher grade filters. Again, I replied accordingly.
Fram does make good higher grade filters as the Ultra that does receive high marks.
Since you seems to be versed in the keyboard and internet, feel free to search as you please.

like I said. ...."over the last 20 years, over 10 Harleys and 300,000 miles they have worked flawlessly" ... the ones you say "aren't as good" account for ~ 1/2 those miles
so say what you will but good enough is good enough..they work without fail so don't need to research a better mouse trap

In your case I was wrong.
Corporations cut cost in production all the time that makes the final product just good enough. If I just purchased a 2024 Road Glide, I would want the most reliable oil filter for the money that I could get.
I guess we will agree to disagree.
Be safe and have a good day.

I use the Hiflofiltro because they seem to be a good value. I've been meaning to cut open a MoCo filter and a Hiflo but I'm lazy. I've got a bona-fide filter cutter but I hate using the damn thing.
I wouldn't hesitate to use any of those filters except for the Fram with cardboard endcaps. It may be fine but it looks cheap. There was talk of Fram filters coming apart and plugging piston coolers in 5.9 Cummins engines years ago and it scared me away from the brand.
