RE: fram oil filters
Never ever use a Fram Filter..just my 2 cents. Check out Bob the oil guy, there is a link to filter testing there and Fram is rated last..I stick to the HD 5 micron black filters..get for about $7.00 with my discount.

RE: fram oil filters
Mobil One Vtwin oil is just about the best synthetic to put in anything......while the Fram is just about the worst oil filter to put on anything.
You picked out some good oil....now pick out a good filter. Fram just does not cut it.

Wildeano,
It seems like I beat this one to death anytime I see something on here about oil filters. But, as sure as I'm setting here...I believe it to be right. K&N makes an oil filter for your bike that you can order (in chrome or black) at your local autozone. It also has a 17mm nut built right into the end of it so removal is a snap. I won't use anything else. Check it out at www.knfilters.com

P.S. By the way, I am just as sold on mobil 1 for v-twins!

RE: fram oil filters
I've read all sorts of write-ups on filters and the plain Fram filters are always rated very low. I used them years ago, but once the bad press from reputable sources starting showing up I moved on to better brands, usually OEM. The Fram Ultra Guard, on the other hand, is actually rated pretty well and is supposedly an excellent filter.
While I believe many of the "boutique" filters to be overpriced, most are decent and do a good job of filtering oil.
I'm with scofield333 on this- only H-D filters for my bikes, & they're only $7 for the black ones from my dealer.
