Default Who's Oil Filter???

I use Mobil 1 V-Twin and a ML 16822 filter. The Black one. I have been using this combination from day one, and I use it in all 3 cases. No problems and it runs very cool all the time. I also am using a Jagg cooler on this setup and a remote VERTICAL filter.

When they adapt the chrome filter to meet the same specs as the Black one, I will swap over then. They do not recomend the chrome one as of yet... (see atatched )

The chrome version of the ML16822 has not been upgraded to meet the needs of the Harley Davidson 1450cc engines introduced after 1999. Those engines require a 10 micron nominal filter with an anti-drain back valve among other specifications. Only our ML16822 meets all the specifications at this time.

As to my posting, can someone tell me who makes the "Harley" oil filter, for Harley?

Thanks, Mike

At one time they were supplied by Champion industries and were their standard grade filter with HD logo. Do NOT know if that is still the source or someone underbid them. But, I am certain there is nothing special about Harley's filter. On my Evo I use the Supertech 3614 which is Champion's best filter media. Cost is 2 bucks at WalMart.
