Used Oil Analyses (UOA)

I just looked at Harley's syn3 voa, and saw that Pococj's last uoa had higher numbers of phos, cal, and zinc. moly was real close. If a Harley can last 100k on syn3 oil, his bike should last forever with his mix.,,

The first sample says nothing unless you get an abnormal
every test after that should tell you something.

This oil was ran for just over 5,000 miles in AZ heat. Some days it reached 115* and we did a 250+ mile 2-up ride. The oil temp gauge would read 270+ for most of this oil's life. I expected it to be totally broken down but it looks pretty good.
P.S. It's auto Mobil 1 15-50. Who really needs that $$V-Twin$$ on the bottle.
The TBN is excellent.

Has Blackstone ever returned a report where they recommend changing the brand, or type of oil due to extreme wear or for any other reason? Every report I've read says the oil is fine. Seems they only recommend when to change it, so by that in their eyes you can run any oil out there, and it will do the job. They test mixture's of oil that guys make in their garage and their reports say it ok to use, and how long before it should be changed. I think they would be more credible if every so often they said don't use XXX oil, its not working for your motor. Otherwise any oil out there is the right one for your application.,,

You're right in a way I think. I think it shows a name brand quality oil will do fine weather it's $1.99 per qt on sale car oil or $12.99 per qt V-Twin oil. In the end they are both good. I choose car oil because the V-Twin on the bottle isn't worth the extra $$$ to me. I get mine 5 qts @ $22.00 for Mobil 1 15-50.
