My 2019 don't burn oil its a 114 with 24000 no oil consumption I use Mobil 1 20/50 Synthetic . Take the bike back to the dealer and don't let him tell its normal its not. I would check your trans oil maybe summing.

I’ll have to read it again but the way I read that chart it’s telling you the minimum temp you should be using the various weight oils. Not the maximum temp.

So went for a ride today only about 20 miles on backroads. Brought it home, let it idle UPRIGHT for two full minutes, checked oil about a minute or two after, and oil was one dot away from the full line, so it looks like I gained oil possibly, but certainly didn’t lose any. We’ll see what it reads when fully cool. Of the dozens of machines I have owned, this bike has me stumped.

also, since new and even currently , if I give it a a rolled throttle to full throttle, not exceeding 5k rpms, I will smell a burnt oil smell. Especially if I do it on a long hill with wife on back. Is that oil mist from breather vent ?

Reading from the owners manual as I sit here.
Use SAE 20 W 50 SYN3 below30 degrees F
Use SAE 10W40 below 40 degrees F
Use SAE 20W50 above 40 degrees F
Use SAE 50 above 60 degrees F
Use SAE 60 above 80 degrees F

I think you are misinterpreting the information in your owner's manual. According to OP's owner's manual, his bike came from the factory with HD 360 20W50, which is the "preferred" oil for normal operating conditions down to 39.2°F. The OP stated he was he was riding in 90 degree temps. I would consider those temps to be within normal operating conditions, and far from "extreme heat". The end result of unnecessarily using SAE 50, or SAE 60 would be "poor starts" below 50°F.

Weird. I just rode 60 miles today. Doesn’t seem like anything lost. I’m starting to thing anything over half on dipstick will inherently be burned off and anything below half dipstick ie 4.5 quarts will be from legitimate oil burning at piston. I siphoned my oils down to exactly 1/2 when cold. So we will see if it continues to burn. I did notice a lot of soot/ carbon on my tail pipes as if I had a two stroke. So I’m either running rich or burning oil, but I think the oil I’m burning is from mist is that recirculating through Intake. Im gonna keep a close eye on it .!

This bike is possessed …. I just rode in Maine a few weeks ago three days of riding. Each day the bike seemed to lose significant increments of oil on dipstick. I checked it hot after riding it and letting it sit on jiffy stand for two minutes. On the last day of riding, I checked cold before I went out and oil was barely showing on the bottom of dipstick. I was so frustrated I went out for a ride with the oil low. Rode about 100 miles, came back to the campsite, let it idle upright and low and behold the oil level was 100% full, at the top of the dipstick as if I just did an oil change.
what the hell is going on?!!
