Your right Tail, I checked AutoZone in my area (was lucky and bought the last 8qts) but the guy told me AutoZones are discontinuing the Mobil 1 V twin ! Nobody else here has it !! And maybe Albersons carries it, but here in Central IL we aint never heard of a "Albertsons"...?

Harley is offering a new oil called Formula+ for transmissions and primary. Not sure if it's any better than Syn3, but if you want to stay with a HD product, you might look into using it.

That was that mobile 1 v-twin in the engine, redline in the trans and HD primary oil in the primary!

I was at my Harley dealer today and they had a new SE Fatboy in the showroom with the Syn3 sticker on the primary case that indicated it was in all 3 cavaties. So if its good enough for a high performance $30,000 bike...it must be ok for mine. I used it in my Sportster all 3 cavaties no problems at all....and the engine was definitely smoother. KB

Not so, there are problems coming up with the use of the Syn 3 in thre transmissions. The better lube such as redline or mobil 1 75/90 will also make it shift better so don't believe everything the dealer says or even the MOCO for that matter.

By the time the problem pops up using the Syn 3 in the trans, it will probably be out of warrantee any way. Syn 3 is a motor oil , NOT a gear oil and mazola will work in there if you want to try it.
