Dealership using non-H-D Oil?
Just curious, has anyone else gotten a change at the dealership and gotten non-H-D oil?
Went in for my 1K service and was asked if I wanted to go synthetic, which I did.
Checked the slip and it’s Klotz, not H-D SYN3. Dipstick was well over full, and the oil was red.
Lesson learned, but I’m still a little confused about the oil brand..?
Would love to hear everyone’s experiences re: brand that H-D has used.

The local dealer in my area has HD oil products & Amsoil behind the counter in they're parts department. Other riders I've spoken with have said they've seen other oil brands offered than Harley oil in dealerships. A new trend?

That's why I do my own work. I use what I want. Plus the money the dealers charge for service is ridiculous!

H-D oil is just the cheapest bidders oil dumped in an H-D bottle.....Nothing special about it.
I use Valvoline Racing Oil, I always have.

If you don`t specify what oil to use, the shop can use any brand it feels like at the time, as long as it is a suitable oil...
No big conspiracy here....
